This project is a spatial brand upgrade of the U Ding restaurant chain located in the dining area of a shopping mall. The space incorporates the art of woodblock printing, using old photographs of Chengdu streets from the 60s and 70s as its content. The kitchen was moved to a visible location, showcasing the cooking process and hygiene standards. The dining area was designed with a linear layout, created by isolating the kitchen using natural stone walls in the shape of a city wall.
